GOOGLE CREATION FROM MEDIA 2026: BRIAN HAPPY BRYANSON 'THE CPTSD COLD CASE PROJECT' 2026

About Brian "Happy" Bryanson & The CPTSD Cold Case Project
Welcome to the central repository for the research, visual tools, and literary works of Brian "Happy" Bryanson. Operating under the digital research handle @cptsdcoldcase, this platform serves as an open-source, permanent archive dedicated to unpacking multi-generational trauma, severe childhood abuse, and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD).
Through the combination of forensic-style psychological frameworks, autobiographical literature, and visual mapping, my mission is to provide survivors and clinicians with concrete tools to unfreeze the brain, break through deep dissociation, and solve the historical "cold cases" of their own lives.

My Background & Foundation
I operate out of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in Texas. Over my professional career, I have specialized in addiction recovery, advanced trauma processing, and the dynamics of family-of-origin systems. My background includes working within leading inpatient treatment centers, such as The Meadows Texas, where I focused heavily on utilizing therapeutic process groups to facilitate organic emotional expression and build foundational trust in damaged individuals.
My perspective integrates core developmental psychology frameworks—specifically Erik Erikson’s stages of psychosocial development—with innovative, trauma-informed methodologies. However, my work is not merely academic. It is forged from a deep, lifetime combination of clinical expertise and intense personal survival.
As a survivor of a profoundly abusive and toxic ancestral lineage—a history I lay bare in my autobiographical essay series, "Born Into a Crime Family"—I have dedicated my life to the protection and healing of vulnerable souls. Over my lifetime, I have directly parented and cared for 57 foster children through my own household, and I continue to mentor foster and at-risk youth outside of my home, extending my advocacy to hundreds of children over the decades. This deep immersion in the foster care and recovery spaces is the primary driving force behind everything I create.

The Intentions Driving My Work
The CPTSD Cold Case Project was created out of a vital necessity: traditional talk therapy often fails to reach the deepest, most heavily guarded compartments of childhood trauma. When a child is raised in an environment of systemic terror, terror is normalized, and the mind dissociates—effectively burying the "crime scenes" of their upbringing to ensure daily survival.
My work is driven by three core intentions:
1. Treating Trauma as a Cold Case Investigation
When an adult suffers from severe CPTSD, their memories are often frozen, fragmented, or entirely blocked. My philosophy dictates that we must approach our past not as helpless victims, but as objective, meticulous forensic investigators. By auditing the family tree, peeling back the polished narratives of generational enablers, and looking at the cold, hard facts of our upbringing, we can systematically reconstruct our history and finally uncover the truth.
2. Physicalizing Trauma Through Visual Mapping
Trauma is not just a collection of thoughts; it is a physical reality stored within the human nervous system. To bridge the gap between the mind and the body, I have developed specialized visual tools, including my proprietary "Victim Sheets" and "Body Maps." These diagrams serve as anatomical blueprints, allowing survivors to physically map out exactly where decades of stored fear, suppression, and emotional violence reside. Physicalizing the trauma is an essential step to unfreezing the brain's defense mechanisms.
3. Creating a Free, Publicly Accessible Repository
True healing resources should never be locked behind exorbitant paywalls. Because I understand the struggles faced by survivors—and navigating life on disability myself—I am committed to keeping this conglomeration of work entirely open-source and free for the public. Whether you are a clinician looking for alternative trauma tools, a student researching childhood systems, or a survivor trying to survive the legacy of your own "house of hate," these resources are here for you to download, share, and print into physical binders for your personal recovery files.

Active Research and Publications
This blog is the official home for the complete compilation of my work, including:
  • The CPTSD Cold Case Essays: Long-form forensic breakdowns of toxic family structures, generational cover-ups, and the mechanics of psychological dissociation.
  • Visual Recovery Tools: Downloadable and printable high-resolution templates of my Body Maps and Victim Sheets.
  • Happy's Poetry Book for Those Who Have CPTSD: Excerpts and chapters from my published creative literary works, designed to give a raw, authentic voice to the unspoken realities of trauma survival.
Unaddressed trauma is a slow, psychological death, but it does not have to be a permanent sentence. By stepping onto the witness stand of your own life and investigating the past with uncompromising honesty, the cold case of your childhood can finally be solved.
