Why 2026 may permit a fresh review

A DOCUMENTED ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGE

 

On June 17, 2026, DPS announced that its UCIP/Cold Case Program had expanded to 17 Rangers and three support staff and that each of the six Ranger companies would receive a second cold-case Ranger position. This staffing announcement does not promise review of this archive. It does, however, provide a concrete reason to request a new, bounded intake rather than simply resend an undifferentiated historical packet.
